From rustic wood furniture to light textiles, each element merges to create a visually captivating and comforting experience. Whether you live near the sea or in the middle of the city, this style will transport you to a Mediterranean oasis in your own home. Learn about the most important features to give your home that magical and relaxing touch that only the Mediterranean style can offer:

1. OPEN AND FLOWING SPACES

It seeks to create bright, warm, and relaxing environments, where you can feel the calm and the sounds that surround you, such as the water or the movement of the leaves in the trees. It is a casual style where nothing is strict, while at the same time showing a cheerful character. It makes the most of natural light, through large windows or doors that open to the outside and thus connect with the different rooms of the house.

2. NATURAL, SOFT AND SIMPLE

The materials used in the Mediterranean style are mainly natural and organic, such as wood, clay, stone, cotton, or linen. They bring warmth, texture, and authenticity to the spaces, and are combined with other more modern ones, such as metal or glass. The predominant colors are whites, blues, and greens, which evoke the sky, the sea, and vegetation. Touches of other bright colors such as yellow, red, or orange can also be added. The shapes used are not pure, imperfections don’t matter and irregular walls or rounded corners are not a problem.

3. MINIMALIST BUT COZY

The furniture used is comfortable, practical, and functional. Light wood or white furniture is preferred, with straight or curved lines, which bring lightness and spaciousness to the spaces. Wrought iron or wicker pieces can also be incorporated, which give a rustic and handcrafted touch. The decoration is minimalist and natural, with few but well-chosen elements. Objects reminiscent of the sea and nature are used, such as vases, shells, tapestries, or paintings. Textiles are essential to create a cozy and comfortable atmosphere. Natural and soft fabrics are used, such as cotton or linen, in light colors or printed with geometric or floral motifs.
